Saudi Arabia Denounces Iranian Attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan
The Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement that such actions pose a serious threat to both regional and international security, warning that they undermine ongoing efforts aimed at de-escalation and restoring stability in the region.
It reaffirmed what it called the kingdom’s full support for Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, stressing backing for any steps those countries take to safeguard their sovereignty, security, and the safety of their populations.
In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced early Wednesday that it had carried out retaliatory operations targeting 21 US military positions across the region, including bases located in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan.
According to reports, the strikes followed US military action in southern Iran, which came after an Apache helicopter was downed.
The escalation is the latest development in a broader cycle of regional tensions that has been building since late February, when exchanges of strikes involving Israel and the United States triggered repeated rounds of retaliation, diplomatic friction, and military confrontations.
