Jordan, Cyprus, Greece Unite at 5th Summit in Amman

(MENAFN) Amman hosted the fifth trilateral summit between Jordan, Cyprus, and Greece on Wednesday, with leaders zeroing in on deepening bilateral cooperation and navigating an increasingly volatile regional landscape, Jordan's Royal Hashemite Court announced in an official statement.

King Abdullah II, Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis committed to broadening trilateral engagement across trade, investment, water resources, energy, and tourism, according to the statement.

King Abdullah II framed the summit as an indispensable coordination forum, pressing the three nations to capitalize on their geographic positioning as critical bridges linking their respective regions.

Turning to pressing regional concerns, the Jordanian monarch voiced his country's unequivocal rejection of Israeli moves to alter the established status quo in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza, and called for the immediate and unhindered flow of humanitarian assistance into the besieged enclave. He further reaffirmed Jordan's unwavering support for Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Christodoulides — whose nation currently holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union — expressed strong solidarity with Jordan and underscored the trilateral framework's growing importance in confronting shared regional challenges.

Mitsotakis commended Jordan's stabilizing influence across the region, asserting that the three-way partnership delivers a powerful signal of collective adherence to international law.

Ahead of the summit, King Abdullah II convened separate one-on-one meetings with both the Cypriot and Greek leaders.
