Hezbollah Engages in Clash with Israeli Forces in Southern Lebanon
The group said it targeted an Israeli Merkava tank with a guided missile, asserting a confirmed hit. The Israeli army has not immediately responded to the claim.
Earlier, warning sirens sounded across the greater Tel Aviv area after rockets were fired from Lebanon. Hezbollah also said it struck Israeli military sites in Tel Aviv using “precision missiles,” targeting the Kirya complex, home to Israel’s Defense Ministry, and the Dolphin barracks of the Military Intelligence Directorate.
Since March 2, Israel has conducted airstrikes and a ground offensive in southern Lebanon following cross-border attacks by Hezbollah. Lebanese authorities report at least 1,094 deaths and 3,119 injuries from Israeli operations.
The escalation comes amid a broader joint US-Israeli campaign against Iran, which has claimed over 1,340 lives since February 28. Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
